About me

I am a biologist and educator whose research integrates microbiology, virology, computational biology, and science education. My laboratory uses computational and molecular approaches to develop new tools for studying emerging and neglected viruses, identify potential antiviral therapeutics, and create authentic undergraduate research experiences.

Journey

My fascination with viruses began as an undergraduate researcher and has shaped my career ever since. Since then, I have studied viruses from multiple perspectives: from molecular mechanisms of infection to the population-level dynamics of disease. Today, my research combines virology, computational biology, and undergraduate mentorship to better understand viruses and develop new approaches for combating infectious diseases.
